Since the inception of Snapchat filters, other social channels have been trying their best to emulate the face-morphing feature. Facebook introduced masks along with filters to live video, and now Twitter presents stickers. The stickers are emojis users can place on their photos, but they also function as hashtags. Click a sticker on a photo and all the tweets from other users with the same sticker will come up. In the future, Twitter could use this new system to create a new summary of an event, such as the NBA finals, with the same stickers.

By @brianstelter via @CNNMoney

Facebook is going back to its roots by changing its News Feed algorithm, personalizing user content, and connecting users with profiles they interact with the most. While this is a welcome change to users, publishers are concerned about the impact the new algorithm may have on their traffic and views. Facebook changes its news feed ranking system around once a month, so users and publishers will have to wait to see what comes out next.
