#MeetMetter: Kate Berry, Senior Account Manager

Metter Media Senior Account Manager + Outreach Coordinator Kate Berry has been with us for just over a year now … which we can’t believe, because she’s taken her position here at Metter by storm since her first day on the job!

Working with some of our largest clients in the finance and remodeling/luxury home spaces, Kate has blown us away with her work ethic, strategic thinking, the beautiful feeds she constructs for her clients, and her eternally positive attitude. We love how genuinely Kate cares about the people she works with, both on the Metter team and her clients. We also love her dog, @ya_bish_emma. 😍

We’re so glad that #KateFromMaine exchanged her remote Maine location for the city skyline and became #KateFromBoston. Read more about her social media journey below.

How did you get your start in social media?

I first dabbled in social media when I worked for Her Campus while I was a student at the University of Maine (Go Blue!). I was a journalism major who loved writing and sharing content online. I lived for the storytelling aspect of content. It really helped propel me into this marketing career path.

With each job I held after college, I dove deeper and deeper into the world of social media. And now, here I am at a social media management agency, doing what I love!

When did you join Metter Media?

I joined the Metter team in February 2019. I moved down from Central Maine for the position and it was a huge adjustment. I instantly fell in love with the city’s fast pace — as well as the fast pace of the job!

Why is social media important/relevant to your industry?

I think it’s important for every industry, but especially for my corporate accounts. Basically everyone in the corporate world is online now — you don’t want your company to get lost in the sauce. You need to stand out by telling the story of your business. That’s how you’re going to stand out amongst the rest and connect with your audience.

What campaigns have you helped create that make your clients stand out from the rest?

Throughout my time with Metter Media, I’ve created many different social media campaigns for all of my clients. For In Good Company, we created a Finding Financial Confidence social media campaign that focused on the importance of building financial confidence through human-centric and relatable stories. We wanted to drive qualified traffic and engagement to both the In Good Company website and social channels. We also wanted to build the brand relationship between In Good Company and MassMutual (their parent company). The campaign is now up for a Shorty Award!

What’s your #MMProTip?

Be authentic. It’s great to get inspiration from other businesses and accounts, but make it your own! What makes you/your business different from the rest? Why should people care about you/your business? Show that on social.

Proudest moment so far?

My proudest moment at Metter was teaching a social media class to the MassMutual marketing team. We spent the day at In Good Company’s office in Brookline discussing all things social media, ending with a hands-on workshop.

It was a really rewarding experience in that I was able to share all this social media knowledge that I’ve worked so hard to build during my time here at Metter.
