This year’s #F8 conference blew our minds – Facebook is coming out with amazing updates, and we couldn’t be any more excited! Zuckerberg is pushing the live-streaming fold and claims the social network will eventually let you live-stream from ANY device and app. Zuckerberg also announced Facebook will allow broadcasters to distribute high-quality video content for viewers, and we’re curious to see how this new push will change the TV industry. For now, we wait for the day comes when we can live-stream our GoPro’s on a drone for all our Facebook friends.

2. You can now build bots for Facebook Messenger

Another topic that came up during #F8 was Zuckerberg’s announcement for bots – yes, you heard that right – for Messenger. Cue all the AOL AIM nostalgia! Messenger will now allow businesses to automate responses to consumers. Zuckerberg also showed attendees that you can now order flowers from 1-800-Flowers without picking up the phone. We can’t wait to have the Siri-version of Facebook up-and-running!

3. Facebook is taking on Periscope with new live video hub and API

via @thenextweb

With all the live-streaming updates, Facebook is taking Periscope by the virtual horns. During #F8, Zuckerberg came out with data saying celebrities and brands reach their target audience better via live-streaming rather than  television. We officially live in a world where mobile is the first screen we touch when we are looking for content. Pretty neat, right?

4. Twitter Awards to recognize innovative ad campaigns

via @marketingland

This year, the Twitter Awards are celebrating Tweet-content via their #GoLive campaign. This is an effort to recognize top-notch content in the Twittersphere, where hashtags #Live, #Culture, #Impact, #Creativity, #Response, #Growth, and #Promote are their own subcategories for content judging. Contest entries are given a special incentive – the winners will take home a cash prize and recognition for their talent.
