Say goodbye to Twitter’s favorite button and hello to its new heart. As shown above, a heart can mean anything from “wow” to “love.” Twitter is calling this new symbol a “like” and hopes that it will resonate across a variety of cultures. 2. Facebook Introduces Mentions

While Twitter integrates its new Like button, Facebook is working to be more like Twitter. Facebook Mentions is a new app where users can share bite-sized content. The app aims to prompt more active use, including trending topics, current events, and even live video.
