#MMinspo: Covid-19 Social Media Ideas — Reopening!

As COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, businesses are reopening and doing all they can to spread the word about updates and safety guidelines. Social media is an important piece of the reopening strategy, and we’ve put together a roundup of some of the best reopening announcement posts seen in our feeds.

1. Many social media users expect to see all necessary information included in a post without needing to leave the app and visit another website/page for more info. MM Client @garmentdistrict used the carousel feature on Instagram to lay out all of the in-store safety guidelines upon reopening. Of course a landing page is also helpful to have on hand with an official statement and other details, so that is linked in the bio as well.

Dear friend, In March, my partners and I made one of the most difficult decisions we’ve ever had to make as business owners. For the safety of our staff and community, we closed The Garment District and Boston Costume before and throughout the Governor’s Stay-At-Home Order. It’s been almost 12 weeks now. We’ve really missed seeing you. We are happy, and appropriately cautious about reopening to the public. Our ability to operate and still stay healthy and keep our community healthy depends on you. On Monday, June 8th The Garment District and Boston Costume will reopen to the public. Our number one concern when we reopen is the safety of our staff, customers, and community. We are excited to see you shopping here again, but please only come into the store when you are healthy. If you have the slightest inkling that you might be sick, or if you’ve been in contact with someone who is sick, please stay home. Our staff is doing the same. I’m writing to outline the policies and procedures we’ve put into place to help you feel comfortable shopping at The Garment District, because we really appreciate your business. As a local, small business we need your support more than ever before if we’re going to survive this crisis. All these months of continuing to pay our bills with no income has been a challenge and without enough ongoing income it will be tough to survive. We have made a number of physical layout and policy changes to protect you, our staff, and our community. We are likely to continue making changes in the future as we all learn how to operate in this new environment and we will share any changes with you. We also welcome your thoughts and feedback in this process – because we’re all learning as we go along. ➡️ View our latest Facebook post or visit the the link in our bio for the full announcement!

2. If you have multiple locations reopening on different dates, consider posting a graphic making it obvious. @limonrotisserie announced outdoor dining at a few locations with a simple text overlay and further details in the caption.

3. We love this reopening safety video posted as a personal message from MM Client @designerbath! This style post is not only super personal, but also shows the announcement is current.

4. An alternative to a carousel post showing guidelines, you could have one graphic with icons and small lines of text like @revitalize_hairandbeauty does here. It’s eye-catching, informative, and not overcrowded.

5. This graphic by @asburyparkpress outlining some guidelines is also done nicely for a post with a bit more text than the last example, but not enough to need multiple parts. The contrasting color and simple font pair nicely with a grayscaled photo.

6. MM Client Gaudette Insurance Agency used simple standout text to present an announcement, and included all the info in the caption. As mentioned previously, it’s helpful when viewers can see the main info in one place without navigating elsewhere.

7. MM Client @jakenjoes created a fun, catchy animation announcing outdoor dining! It’s short, and includes the message along with a few amazing food and drink photos.

8. If you’re like me, you’re seeking reassurance that businesses are applying safety guidelines and practices before returning as a customer. In this case, it can be helpful to repost a review covering this, as MM Client @cambrewingco did with one highlighting their staff’s knowledge of the new procedures.
