Lots of exciting updates in the world of social media this week. Snapchat adds more templates to Lens Studio encouraging user creativity, while Instagram begins to showcase their employee’s skills. 1. You can now build your own face filter for Snapchat

Months after introducing their Lens Studio platform which allows creators to build augmented reality objects, Snapchat is releasing new templates for the creation of digital masks. Users can now use their creativity to build virtual hats, face masks, and other various 3d objects.

2. Instagram adds new profile to showcase design and creativity on the platform

Curious about the creatives behind Instagram? The platform has opened a new profile that will showcase the work of their design team and other emerging artists. With their official blog content at a hold, due to the disbandment of their global community team, the new profile is a return to the company making effort to connect with users.

3. Pinterest is testing a new profile design

Pinterest may be introducing a new profile design in the near future. The site has been slowly trying to add more business-oriented tools and bring a fresh experience on the platform — read to see what changes may be on the way.

4. Facebook adds new QR code option for Pages

Facebook is now offering a new QR code option for Pages — this option allows page managers to create different types of QR images in different formats for their page. Automatic page liking and location check-in are just a couple of the actions that managers can tie to the codes.

5. LinkedIn has a new feature to help you connect with people who are nearby

Have a hard time networking with the people you met or listened to at events? Introducing ‘Find Nearby,’ a new feature LinkedIn is introducing to help users get connected. Once activated the feature scans a users surroundings and shows connects you to nearby Linkedin users. Don’t be alarmed, though! The entire feature is opt-in.

The first weekend of Coachella (which we will now be referring to as Beychella) has passed, and unless you were living under a rock, by Sunday you probably heard about Beyoncé’s amazing performance. The singer made history being the festivals first Black Woman to headline, with over 100 dancers and band members on stage Beychella had (and still has) the internet buzzing.
