TikTok’s bid to be the dominant short mobile video social network continues with the launch of its new referral rewards program. Snap is opening up Snapchat for celebrities and influencers like Serena Williams, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin Hart, and more to create their own shows. Using short form, vertical videos that mimic Snap’s 80-plus original series, celebrities and influencers will be able to create their own content and monetize off of it. These shows offer new ways of mobile storytelling and produce new genres such as sitcoms, mockumentaries, and other episodes airing at only just 3-5 minutes.
